This chapter hones in on the art of creating a steady flow of dopamine to energise us to achieve our goals. It draws on dopamine’s role both as a motivation and reward molecule. The practices of this chapter can enhance our go-getter spirit by inviting us to dream up exciting, inspiring goals and regularly top up on our excitement, energy and motivation as we move towards our goals. The practices are divided into four key areas:

Dreaming: Coming up with exciting ideas that you can translate into goals to strive towards.

Persevering: Keeping up energy, motivation and regular actions towards achieving your goals.

Exploring: Drawing on fresh and new ways of experiencing the moment to stimulate dopamine’s motivation and curiosity.

Celebrating: Rewarding and celebrating your achievements of long and short-term goals, as well as small wins along the way.
